What is Knee Kinesiography with KneeKG®?

Knee Kinesiography with the KneeKG® is goes further than just symptom management!

Knee Kinesiography begins with an in depth medical examination of the knee. The system is attached to the knee and the examination is performed while the knee is motion as the patient is walking on a treadmill.

This allows the Knee Kinesiography system to evaluate joint function as the knee is in motion. The system can be compared to an EKG, which measures heart function and performance.

The Knee Kinesiography system examines the state of the knee joint by capturing the movements of the knee. This helps the system and your consultant to understand the deficits related to pain. The examination thus can identify and treat the causes of the pain with the right information:

  • Knee pain generally appears with the movement of the joint and is related to biomechanical dysfunctions.
  • There is little or no correlation between functional joint pain and the static image tests like the X-ray and the MRI.

Who Can Benefit from Knee Kinesiography?

The knee exam with Knee Kinesiography is recommended in order to evaluate the knee motion in 3D for patients with impaired knee function due to orthopedic causes. This can typically include the following conditions:

  • Ligament injuries
  • Knee osteoarthritis
  • Sports injuries
  • Meniscal injuries
  • Post-surgery pain
